I am Gitxsan (First Nations/Indigenous). I am from Hazelton, British Columbia (Gitanmaax). I am from a small community, Northern British Columbia, Canada. I am a 3rd & 4th generation residential school survivor. All my life I felt like I wanted to do something more with my life. Something greater, something better.. I was told I would never become anything great. I think this is my opportunity to prove them wrong. I am not nothing & I can become something great & I don't need to be a size 0 to do that. I don't need to starve myself everyday. Or just completely wear myself out every single day. Going to the gym or putting make up on.. I would say that my beauty comes from within & it’s not just from the outside. I am beautiful inside & out & that is what I love about myself the most. I am also a recovering addict but theres more to me than just that.

I think it’s awesome. I think it’s amazing. I think it’s great. They need to do something more like this because man do I ever feel bad about myself sometimes… seeing woman with flawless skin and their a size 0. Makes you want to look and be like that but behind that you are working so damn hard. You are tired all of the time and the expectations behind that is actually very unrealistic. Your basically signing yourself up to be exhausted all the time.

I am First Nations & you don’t see a-lot of First Nations/indigenous people on television. Alot of younger kids already have looked up to me in the past. I would like to be a good role model for my community and show them that you can do anything that you put your mind to. Especially First Nations people.
