Who am I?

I am a 27 year old, 5’4”, African American, freelance model from Austin, Tx. I was raised in a small country town on the outskirts of Austin by a single mother with not much guidance on how to dream, have goals and how to take action on how to bring those aspirations to fruition. But somehow, at the age of a young girl, I found and always had a love and passion for fashion and the runway and fighting against the odds to earn my seat at the table. I grew up watching ANTM and practicing my ‘foundation/signature walk’ (as Tyra would say), up and down our small hallway, for hours in my moms heels. And I’ve been strutting every since!! 5’4” will not stop me from pursuing my dreams of becoming a full-time professional model.

What do I think about The Fashion Hero TV series?

My dream is to become a full-time professional model and fashion creative at 5’4” ,and to be the most sought after petite model across the globe. I want to pave the way for other aspiring models that don’t meet industry standards and show those in the industry why we deserve the same opportunities as industry standard models. Talent comes in all shapes and sizes and the fashion industry is missing out on a lot of talent from those who don’t meet ‘fashion industry standards’. A career in modeling feels like it is my calling and where I belong. I love every moment, experience, opportunity, and travel adventure, that being a model brings. I know this is my passion because I have had to wake up at 3 am for a gig and I was happy to do so. I know this is my passion because I’ve been stuck in an airport for 5 hours and never complained about the wait. I know this is my passion because if I never made a dime off it, I would still model and create with others in the industry. I don’t just like what I do, I LOVE being a model and creative.

Why would I be a great role model for this generation and inspire people as the new face of The Fashion Hero?

I would make a difference because I reprsent so man demographics. I represent the minority, I represent young aspiring women, I represent petite models, and I represent the soon to be expection to the rule of ‘fashion industry standards’. I believe I have the confidence, strength, tough skin, humble spirit, willingness to learn and be coached, to be the true fashion hero for all demographics that I already represent. Being apart of the Fashion Hero platform would allow me to reach and help so many people that have the same aspirations as I do! And I don’t want this opportunity solely for stardom, but to be a living, fleshly hope, to so many that have aspirations and dreams of having a career in the fashion industry, to show them that anything is truly possible!
