Beauty for me is about embracing my broken parts and sharing them with others, it isn't about have perfect feauture or flawless skin. Even if you have scars, you are still beautiful. Scars are the best kind of beauty, they signify strength and healing.
I was bullied because of my physical scars beginning at the age of 6 into middle school. I had minor surgeries which left me with a nine in scar on my leg, and another procedure on my lower back leaving me with a 5 inch scar. I made a decision one day to start loving myself for who I was on the inside, and to make a positive difference and change the way we define beauty. At 15 I wrote and published my childrens book, Shining Scars, which I donate thru my nonprofit organization, and I travel to speak and share my story to encourage children and teens, who are trying to overcome their stigmas. My children's book continues to show children that they can shine bright thru their shining scars and has traveled to over 26 countries, including the Philippines.
Reading, writing, dance, white water rafting, outdoor adventures and traveling. Pageants modeling and my sweet doggies.
