I'm a 28-year-old Navajo from Many Farms, Arizona, navigating college life as a student and activist. Ever since I was little, I've dreamed of modeling, but I often felt I didn't belong due to stereotypes and societal ideals about beauty. I've struggled with feeling like I wasn't pretty enough to fit the Western mold.
I see the modeling industry slowly embracing diverse body types and faces, and to me, being a fashion hero means becoming a role model for my community and advocating for others facing similar challenges. While I don’t consider myself an activist yet, I aspire to use my platform to support my community and address crucial issues affecting Indigenous peoples, especially in relation to climate change and the protection of Mother Earth.
I believe I would be a great role model because I represent strength and authenticity in a world that often overlooks diverse voices. My journey as a Native American student and activist inspires me to embrace my identity and pursue my dreams. By advocating for my community and addressing important issues like climate change, I show that true beauty lies in making a difference and uplifting others. I hope my story can ignite hope and empower this generation to stand up for what they believe in.
