My name is Tumi, short for Tumelo which translates to Faith in English. Christianity is my religion. I am from a small land locked country in Southern Africa called Botswana. A language I speak other than English is Setswana. I was born in the city Gaborone, Botswana, lived there till grade 5 then came to Canada to live with my mother and sisters. We visit back home every year it’s always fun and amazing. I am a 18 year old ambitious young black lady who wants to bring change to the Fashion and Beauty industry. I am 5’6 foot tall. I have always had passion for modelling since I was a toddler. Unfortunately I have never had opportunities when I was younger but I know this is my time to break through. I am a very happy soul. Those around me always laughing because I am funny. I love cooking, travelling, camping, singing, taking pictures, music and last but not least basketball. Doing what I love brings so much peace and joy to my heart. I am an extrovert but I do have my days where I love just staying home and enjoying my own company or my family’s. I am very family oriented, I take family and people I love or care about very seriously.

I think The Fashion Hero is a very positive and transformative initiative in the fashion industry. It challenges conventional beauty standards and promotes inclusivity, diversity and self-acceptance.

Being a young lady does not stop me from being a role model and inspiring people. I would make an amazing role model for this generation and inspire people as the new face of The Fashion Hero because I lead by example, demonstrating the qualities I want to see in others. Showing integrity, honesty and responsibility in my actions. Giving back to the community, I love helping others. I am a person who loves communicating effectively. Being clear, open, and honest in my communication, it is very important especially as a becoming a role model. Like I said I am very happy soul so stating resilient and positive is something I do on day to day basis, I face challenges with a positive attitude and resilience. I thrive in showing how to overcome obstacles and learn from failures. Which leads me to next point, Mental Health and Wellbeing. I will always challenge unhealthy beauty standards and promote a holistic approach to health. It is very important to advocate for a healthy lifestyle that includes physical, mental and emotional well being. Using my platform for good has always been the goal. Being Authentic, staying true to myself and my unique style. I know what I want and that is to be The New Face Of The Fashion Hero and inspire this generation that anything is possible through God who loves and strengths us. We have to come together and bring peace our hearts first for us to heal our world and what is going on sound us today which brings be to celebrating Diversity. Embracing and promoting diversity in all forms is very important either that’s highlighting beauty in different body types, ethnicities, ages and personal styles.
